The Journal of Earth and Marine Technology (JEMT) originated from a dean's meeting at the Faculty of Mineral and Marine Technology at the Institut Teknologi Adhi Tama Surabaya in July 2020. The motivation behind its establishment was to bolster the publication opportunities for academicians, students, and practitioners in all Geoscience disciplines. JEMT promptly applied for an ISSN with its inaugural publication, Volume 1 Number 1 2020, and was subsequently awarded the e-ISSN 2723-8105 in September 2020.
In its pursuit to become impactful and valuable in the field, JEMT devoted the years 2020-2023 to preparations for various types of national indexation. As per the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia's letter, Number 225/E/KPT/2022, JEMT is proudly nationally indexed with a SINTA rank of 5.
From 2023 to 2025, JEMT is poised to prepare for inclusion in reputable international indexations, further enhancing its impact and value. This includes attracting contributions from esteemed authors in the field.
Consistently, JEMT releases its publications every September (issue 1) and March (issue 2), adhering to its established schedule. This steadfast commitment to its publication timeline is a testament to the journal's dedication to its readers and contributors.
